Southeast Community Development Corporation set to start construction

Construction is set  to begin in September 2011 on the new headquarters for the Southeast CDC.

This $1.5 million renovation is a conversion of the former Highlandtown Branch library into headquarters for the Southeast CDC and a first floor restaurant. The building has been designed to achieve three stars in the city of Baltimore’s Green Building Standards. Three stars is the equivalent of LEED® Gold certification.

The building will incorporate solar tubes on the roof top generating approximately 9,000 KwH.

The project is the third green project by RM Sovich Architecture in the Highlandtown neighborhood.
