RM SOVICH ARCHITECTURE

Leadership

Randy M. Sovich, AIA, LEED® AP NCARB

Mr. Sovich graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University, and has practiced architecture for more than 29 years. His extensive experience designing buildings and places has been recognized for quality in international competitions and through awards programs locally, regionally and nationally, including the Maryland Society of Architects, the American Institute of Architects Components Awards, Progressive Architecture Magazine, the American Society of Landscape Architects, The American Society of Interior Designers, the Center for Health Design and American School and University Magazine. Mr. Sovich recently completed writing “Creating Home, An Assisted Living Design Manual” with Robert Jenkens and Candace Baldwin of NCB Capital Impact.

As a young architect, Mr. Sovich was surprised by the low expectations the architecture profession so often associated with the design of senior living environments. Great enthusiasm exists for the design of monuments. Literally thousands of architects, designers, and laymen submitted schemes for the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial in Washington D.C.. Some of that energy should be redirected to create an architecture that improves the life experiences of the aging.
